House Style - Classical Music Magazine

HOUSE STYLE OF THE CLASSICAL MUSIC MAGAZINE

Masthead:
The masthead is the same font and style on each copy of the magazine, even thought it  changes colour based on what the background image is. It stays placed at the top of the page, and remains the same size. However, though a lot of mainstream magazines have their models cover the masthead, in this case, the masthead is in the foreground.

Text:
I most cases, the text's colour matches that of the rest of the page - for example, in a lot of them, the masthead is in white, thus the text is as well. In the front cover to the far left on the bottom row, the text matches the colour of the model's dress, and the masthead matches that of her hair. The text is always placed on either the right-hand or left-hand side (depending on where the model is placed) and is always in a straight column. However, the anchorage text doesn't necessarily stay in the same place - where it's usually directly underneath the masthead and next to the subject of the photo, it's sometimes placed at the bottom of the page. The font of the anchorage text also changes. The sub-feature lines, teaser lines and other informative text is always featured on the same side as the anchorage text, lined up in the same column-like structure.

Image:
The image always takes up the entirety of the page, which may be why the masthead is always in front. All the images include a model, usually placed on one side of the frame. This means that their picture can remain clear, and the text can be placed on the other side. Thus, most of the magazines are set out so that one half shows the model, and the other half is dedicated to text. Because the images always take up the whole page, there is no need to add an additional background colour, but text colour has to change in order to be readable against whichever photo is used.

Other:
The bar code is always placed in the same place on each page. Also, none of the magazine covers contain any advertisements or extra information that clogs up the page. This makes each page look organised and clear.
